Euro Air's Fabric ducting suits Fitness First

Fabric ducting from Euro Air is being used to provide heating and cooling to two new Fitness First gym, health and fitness clubs in London. Fitness First is the largest group of its kind in the world and places great emphasis on the providing a comfortable and pleasant environment for its 1.4m members.
Fabric ducting was selected for these projects by TBS Mechanical & Electrical Design & Build for its ability to meet both the environmental control and aesthetic requirements of the open plan gyms.
"We needed to find a balance that would provide uniform air distribution without draughts while also complying with the architect's requirements - fabric ducting proved ideal," explained Peter Smith of TBS. "We had an excellent response from Euro Air and were particularly impressed by their willingness to understand our needs, challenge our thinking where appropriate, and propose alternative solutions. It made a very pleasing contrast to the 'take it or leave it' approach adopted by some suppliers," he added.
At the Fitness First club in Haringay, north London, four 630mm diameter half round ducts with multi-impulse diffusers have been installed. This arrangement allows a proportion of air to pass gently through the weave of duct, with the rest being directed to specific areas through the diffusers. The ducts are of various lengths to suit the layout of the space and were manufactured in in a special colour to complement the décor.
A similar approach was adopted at Fitness First in Baker Street, central London, using 900mm diameter half round ducts that run the length of the complex along one wall.
